Yes, we're still alive. No, I haven't done any homeschooling since my last post. :) We had some pipe with a nail in it leak all under our floors (unknown for a while to us) and we had to move out for a week for the floor people to repair it.
We got a new water heater and fixed a freeze break in November, and that's when they saw the nail. We battled with insurance and lost, so we had to pay for the entire thing: water heater (unrelated, but pricey), freeze break, nail in pipe, dry wall, rotten floors replaced, someone to dry it all out, then someone to rebuild it, then they sanded the entire downstairs (we had to move EVERY.LAST.THING. upstairs), then they refinished it.
The floors look awesome now, but I'm trying to not be bitter that it cost us all we've saved up for Sam to go to school next year plus more. :(
There you go. Our life the past month!
Boo hiss.
ReplyDeleteYes, boo hiss on expensive unexpected costs. That stinks, but hey...you did get a great looking new floor. Just remember that the Lord will always provide - maybe not in the ways we were thinking. I have to remind myself of that when those types of things are happening to us.
ReplyDeleteLove to you my friends!
