clarification
Ok, so I was just joking around about our condo. I love it, actually. We only had 1 break-in in the whole community and it was the same guy they caught swimming in our pool last year apparently. I just found the whole thing funny since we get listserve emails from our neighbors freaking out. All is good in the 'hood. :)

Tech is fun...who would have known? :)
I'd just like to add to Michael's post about hanging out with the Tech students...I had fun, too. Please pray that we would raise the rest of our support so we can join the team and start ministry there! I'm really excited about it, more excited than I expected to be! :)

Georgia Tech school year starting
Yesterday Amber and I met with the other Georgia Tech C.O. staff and the student leaders for a couple hours. It was a good time to get to know some of the students a little better and to hear from Steve (our campus director) about his ideas for the semester. After meeting together, some of us went to play frisbee at the intramural fields. It was hot, but not too bad. We had a lot of fun and met some new students, too.
We were both glad to be at Perimeter again this morning (our first week back there in a while), and enjoyed worshiping there. The teaching on grace-- today, particularly our deep need for grace-- was so good: we can't really appreciate or really appropriate the cure (grace) if we miss diagnose the disease (our thoroughly corrupted sin nature). Praise God for His work of grace to us in Christ!

For Auburn, starting at "Right-Water"....
We're not sure if this guy is serious or not, but either way, he's hilarious! Thanks go to Jaymi Smith for the link in an e-mail.

So, this year's Auburn team should not disappoint: they have at least one running back who can draw (not necessarily that play up the middle, though) and also disguising himself as other people-- (perhaps, as the ball-carrier on play-action passes?).
On Nov. 12th, UGA's biggest dilemma will probably be, "Who's covering the right-water?"

Braves' Adam LaRoche
The Braves lost to the Diamondbacks yesterday, 8-0. The Diamondback's first baseman was Tony Clark, a tall guy. Check out Adam's quote after the game.
``That guy's unbelievable,'' Braves first baseman Adam LaRoche said of the 6-foot-7 Clark. ``That's some serious pop. The guy's huge. I felt like a little girl standing next to him at first base. No offense to girls.''
(quote from Yahoo! article on yesterday's game)
Funny man. I like it. The Braves are a lot of fun this year.

Typical day... for now
Just want to update everyone on what we're doing now. Amber has finished her job at Apartment Guide Magazine and begun working part-time at Vinings Stationery. I'm trying to put in 30 hours a week on support-raising. Actually, it involves a lot of networking, letter-writing and prayer. So, it's good for me. It's a lot better when the time is scheduled, and we both have clarity on our weekly objectives. Raising support can involve waiting, and it's important to stay active and focused. We're learning.
The beach project is over, and soon the students will be returning to campus. I think classes at Tech start Aug. 22nd. We're especially excited about several friends we've already made-- some returning from SBP, a friend of Amber's from Johnson Ferry and an in-coming freshman from Augusta.
Thanks to all those praying for us. Please pray for our relationships with these students and for us to meet new ones. Before we can focus much energy on the students, though, we need to meet our support goals. Please pray for God connect us with people interested in investing in this ministry. We're very excited about the eternal benefits it offers to us and to others!
And please e-mail us or comment here. We love our family and friends, and we love hearing from you! Thanks a lot!
