fun times

I feel like we've been running around like crazy. We had a great time while Tiffany and Brett were here. I got to see Tiff a lot and that was great! I miss her already, though! We went to Dublin for St. Patty's Day and then to Savannah for a day for a shower Tiff, Jenna and I threw for Jaymi Smith. We came back late Saturday and left early Sunday for New Orleans. We worked really hard all week and got back Friday night. Then we went to breakfast with my parents Saturday morning, hung out with Robert and Anna, Scott and Jessica, then went to Emily and John's wedding. We need a nap :)

This guy was AWESOME. Richard grew up in the Desire Street Projects and became a Christian. He went to college and came back to work with DSM because he had a heart for the people of his home town. He was one of the nicest people we met. Posted by Picasa

These guys are so helpful! You just make a pile outside and separate the electronics, appliances, and wood and they'll come get it. NOW is the time to go help clean because they aren't sure how much longer the city will provide this service. People won't be able to afford to get their own dumpster to haul it all off on their own. Posted by Picasa

This house is across from Carver High School. This neighborhood was voted the worst neighborhood to live in because of the murder rate and crime Posted by Picasa

Here's a view of the neighborhood that Desire Street Ministries is in. We worked in houses all in this neighborhood of people that signed up with them to have their house gutted. Posted by Picasa

Here's a view of the inside...we still had a lot of work to do getting all the nails out of the studs and taking down the ceiling, etc. Posted by Picasa
